ULI Northwest Vice-Chair Eric Cress: Letter to Members

Dear ULI Northwest Members,ericcressheadshot

It is my honor and privilege to serve as your ULI Northwest Vice-Chairman in Oregon and Southwest Washington.  It is a critical time for ULI as we build on the enormous success and accomplishments of my predecessor, Dennis Allen, and our committee chairs. Their work has advanced ULI Northwest to an inflection point, where, with your help, we can leverage our collective engagement, resources and reach to positively impact our community in truly meaningful ways.

At ULI, we measure our success by the value that we provide to you and to your community.  We create that value by giving you the framework, network and programming to advance your business interests while allowing you to contribute to your community.  Over the next two years we will further increase the value we provide through several initiatives.

At the national level we are looking forward to the Fall Meeting in Los Angeles and our Spring Meeting in Detroit where ULI will launch new Product Councils and new engagement opportunities for our members.  ULI currently has an extensive member waitlist for product council opportunities, which they are addressing.  Interested? You should be.  Let us know by logging into Navigator and providing your interests.  Navigator is part of a new suite of technology tools that ULI has recently introduced to help us connect you to engagement opportunities that match your interests and skill set.

At the local level we are rolling out significant new programs for our members.  We are in the planning stages of launching the Women’s Leadership Initiative.  WLI is a successful national program aimed at promoting the advancement of women as leaders in the real estate industry. We are designing a format for a second local Product Council, following up on our very successful Urban Product Council.  And finally, we are filling out our leadership team, creating numerous volunteer opportunities for our local members to work with each other and contribute to the quality of our built environment.  We will continue to have more positions open throughout the Fall, so keep an eye out for more announcements.

With your help, we will make significant progress in the years ahead as we advance our ULI mission and work together to ensure Portland remains one of the best places on the planet to live and work.  Thank you, again, for entrusting me with the continued advancement of ULI in our region.  I am excited for what lies ahead and I am honored to serve you, our members.
