A few exciting announcements from the project…
RFI for Pricing and TDM Pilot Projects Due 9/6/2013!
We have released a Request for Statements of Interest (RFI) to test parking pricing, management and transportation demand management (TDM) strategies in King County multifamily buildings. The intent is to support efficient parking supply and management and encourage tenant use of multi-modal transportation options. RFIs will be accepted from developers, owners, property or parking managers/operators, financiers, or other interested organizations in King County, WA. Information collected from the RFI will be used to develop a subsequent Request for Proposals – only RFI applicants will be considered in the RFP process. The RFI details can be viewed here. Policy Pilot Partners Announced
We are pleased to announce upcoming parking policy partnerships with four King County cities: Kent, Kirkland, Tukwila, and Seattle. The projects will identify opportunities and strategies to update parking requirements building off our Website Calculator, policy guidance, and parking model code language (published soon) work. The projects will begin this fall and continue through September 2014.
Parking Requirements and Utilization Gap Analysis Report Released
We have published the King County Parking Requirements and Utilization Gap Analysis, which analyzes the gap between parking utilization estimated by the Website Calculator and existing King County parking requirements. The study found that many parts of King County have established parking minimum parking requirements that exceed expected utilization. The results were included in a recent article published by the Sightline Institute.
