LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Expand and deepen your understanding of what “leading” really means and what effective leaders actually do, based on recent extensive research.
ULI Northwest is delighted to announce the launch of a new virtual program: Leadership for Change
This year, ULI Northwest’s Center for Leadership program has undergone dramatic transformations. In March, we postponed the traditional in-person program to September, hoping the pandemic would be brought under control by then. In June and July, we realized that in-person gatherings would not be feasible and that we needed to adapt to the new normal. Concurrently, the racial justice reckoning motivated by the murders of George Floyd and many others dominated our collective conscience. These disruptions, while difficult, presented an opportunity to reframe the program for this new era and equip leaders with the tools they need to navigate uncertainty.
It is a great pleasure to announce the launch of Leadership for Change, a fully virtual leadership course for mid-career professionals. Leadership for Change focuses specifically on developing core competencies that are required for real estate leaders to successfully navigate change and acknowledge and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their organizations and communities. The program examines the historical context of racial inequities, the role of real estate and land use in creating and perpetuating these injustices, and helps participants reflect on their personal power to lead systems change.
Gain historical context and unpack the role of real estate, land use, and public policy in creating and perpetuating systemic inequities in the Pacific Northwest.
Analyze personal-level power and privilege to lead systems change.
Understand why and how to build diverse and inclusive teams to solve thorny challenges in real estate and beyond.
Develop a personal leadership action plan as an accountability tool for applying program lessons to your personal and professional life.
