Registration is Open for the Annual YLG Cascadia Regional Conference!

The  YLG Cascadia Regional Conference (CRC)  brings together experts from across the Cascadia region (Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia) to address the most current topics in real estate. Held in Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver on a rotating basis, the purpose of the conference is to convene attendees and speakers from the Cascadia region to explore how our regional identities overlap or differ. For 2021, the conference will be hosted in Portland with in-person and virtual options.

    2021 Conference | August 19 – 20
Sign up for the (virtual) panel only, or the whole conference! Conference registration grants access to the PDX Summer Social (rooftop party), the virtual panel discussion, and property tours. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required to attend indoor in-person component.

This year our theme is Back to Work (But Not Back to Normal!) and will highlight the challenges and opportunities as we emerge from the pandemic and transition back to the office from the perspective of office tenants, developers, and investors. What pandemic-era trends can we expect to endure, and which will fall away?  How will the return to the office or hybrid work models affect future downtown growth and property types — i.e. retail and multi-family — that are driven by nearby employment?

    TOURS

DISTRICT OFFICE – Tour this innovative CLT office project with an interesting origin story. In 2016, in partnership with Beam Development, Urban Development + Partners (UD+P), and Hacker Architects entered into a joint venture with Portland Music Company (PMC), the owner of this 106,000 square foot property.  Under the terms of the agreement, PMC contributed the land at a fixed price, UD+P and Beam Development redeveloped the site, while Hacker Architects worked on the architecture and interior design for the project, which was home to PMC’s retail music store and offices until spring of 2018. Construction began in May 2018. The project’s development program includes six floors of flexible office above ground-floor retail and underground parking. The building is constructed of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), an innovative, exceptionally strong and durable engineered timber product manufactured using wood from sustainably managed forests. District Office features large, clear spans, open floor plates, and flexible office floor plans that can be reconfigured in numerous ways over time. The building’s architecture and design incorporates exposed beams, gorgeous wood details, and large sun-filled windows to create a modern industrial aesthetic. The project was delivered in 2020.

CANVAS AT PRESS BLOCKS –  Canvas at Press Blocks is the first part of a three-building development that will include a 23-story residential building, more than 160,000 square feet of office space, and an outdoor public plaza with dining and street-front retail. Mere steps away from Providence Park, the Press Blocks transforms Goose Hollow from an underutilized industrial neighborhood into a vibrant community and a major transit gateway between downtown Portland and its outlying areas. The development occupies one and a half blocks formerly home to The Oregonian’s printing facilities.

After the tour, join us for an optional no-host happy hour at Migration Brewing on the top floor!

    Parking at Canvas

The parking garage will be open from 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM. The garage entrance is on 17th Avenue, and the elevators will take you to the first floor lobby.
