    Our annual, signature event brings together real estate professionals across disciplines to explore the major trends shaping the built environment. The event will feature a keynote presentation of the 2023 Emerging Trends in Real Estate report, discussions from key experts about the outlook of the Portland market, specifically on housing and how key macro and micro trends will impact migration, affordability, supply, and consumer mindsets. This years event will feature Avery Parti, PwC, presenting the Emerging Trends in Real Estate report; Gregg Colburn, University of Washington and author of Homelessness is a Housing Problem, and Traci Rossi, Friends of the Children.

    The Emerging Trends in Real Estate report is a trends and forecast publication in its 44th edition. It is one of the most highly regarded and widely read forecast reports in the real estate industry. The report and supporting presentation provide an outlook on real estate investment and development trends, real estate finance and capital markets, property sectors, metropolitan areas, and other real estate issues throughout the United States and Canada.
     
    This year from 12:00 - 2:00 PM, registrants will have the opportunity to tour a new and unique development in Portland! Tours will be of the OMSI District, brookLAND, Waterleaf, Meyer Memorial Trust, and the Reser. Information about how to select a tour will be emailed to registrants.

    Avery Parti

    PwC

    Avery is an Assurance Director in the PwC Asset and Wealth Management practice serving clients on the West Coast. She has 10 years of experience in the financial services practice working with clients primarily in the real estate industry, including closed and open-ended private real estate funds, operating properties, REITs, private institutional separate accounts and other related ventures. Her experience spans a variety of asset classes including commercial office, multifamily, industrial, data centers, and hotels, as well as both operating and developmental assets. Avery is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds an MS in Accounting, BA in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting from Cal Poly, SLO. Avery is passionate about people’s experiences whether it be ensuring clients feel heard or supporting individuals at PwC through mentorship and leadership programs.

    Traci Rossi

    Executive Director, Friends of the Children

    Traci, who was born and raised in Oregon, has over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience with an emphasis in education, community outreach, and service to girls, women, children, and families. Traci was recently named a 2020 Woman of Influence by the Portland Business Journal. She volunteers on local boards in alignment with her personal and professional commitment to youth success and equitable access to services and systems to foster a more equitable Oregon. Traci currently sits on the Oregon State Bar’s Board of Governors, The Gray Family Foundation Board, is a founding member of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon Board and an American Leadership Forum Fellow.

    Gregg Colburn

    Professor, Runstad Department of Real Estate at the University of Washington

    Gregg Colburn is an assistant professor of real estate in the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. Gregg entered academia after spending the first seventeen years of his professional life in the private sector. At the University of Washington, Gregg enjoys teaching courses in housing, economics, and finance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He maintains an active research agenda focused on housing policy, housing markets, housing affordability, and homelessness. Gregg is also actively engaged in a wide range of community efforts to address the acute housing crisis in the Puget Sound region.
