ULI Northwest invites you to join us in a series of webinars to connect and educate our members around best practices in the Pacific Northwest in response to COVID-19.
Rapid Adaptation: Epidemics, Economics + Equity
With businesses hit hard by COVID-19, city economic development agencies have had to respond quickly to address impacts and determine how to assist businesses and property owners survive the pandemic. Small businesses and property owners of color have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic due to historic racism and discrimination, lack of access to capital and many other factors, making communities of color more vulnerable to foreclosures, bankruptcies and other economic impacts. If bankruptcies and foreclosures occur, what impact would those have on the economic health of the city?
Pacific Northwest cities are known for unique small businesses that provide a rich and vibrant cultural fabric to our cities. Join us in a discussion of local economic development leaders to hear how they are strategically leading their cities' COVID-19 economic recovery responses in terms of equity and inclusion. What are short- and long-term economic recovery strategies to assist small businesses and property owners of color?
