    CAPITAL MARKETS SYMPOSIUM

     

    Join the Urban Land Institute Northwest on May 12th for an in-depth exploration of regional, national, and global economics, capital markets and real estate investment. The keynote speaker, Dr. Agnia Grigas, is a political risk expert who has advised multinational corporations in the energy, technology, and finance sectors. She specializes in energy and foreign policy of the US and Eurasia, including Europe, Russia, China, and the states of the former Soviet Union. She is also the author of The New Geopolitics of Natural Gas and Beyond Crimea: The New Russian Empire. The event will also feature a deep dive on capital markets in our region from Mark Washington of CBRE, and Reid Rader and Jason Flynn of Eastdil Secured. Roundtable discussions will continue the conversations, followed by a wine and beer reception.

    Directions & Parking

     

    Bell Harbor International Conference Center, located at 2211 Alaskan Way Pier 66, Seattle.

    Parking is available in the Bell Street Pier Garage, located at 2323 Elliott Avenue, Seattle. There are two entrances to the parking garage, one on Elliott Avenue and one on Wall Street. Driving directions are attached to this email.

     

    Parking Garage to the 3rd Floor Entrance

    From the parking garage, take the sky bridge from the 5th floor and cross to the Conference Center. After crossing the bridge, you can access the entrance by taking the elevator to the 3rd floor or going down the stairs on your left and entering the building on the level with the statue outside.

     

    Streel Level to the 3rd Floor Entrance

    From the street level, you will need to go up the stairs and enter on the level with the statue outside.

    Speakers

    Agnia Grigas

    Energy and Political Risk Expert,

    Dr. Agnia Grigas, is a political economist, author, and speaker. She is a Senior Fellow at The Atlantic Council and an independent consultant based out of Los Angeles. Her three acclaimed books include “The New Geopolitics of Natural Gas” (Harvard UP) and “Beyond Crimea” (Yale UP), which was selected as TIME’s Top-10 book on Russia, and “The Politics of Energy and Memory” (Routledge). She has lectured at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, John Hopkins, Oxford, LSE, and leading business and security conferences. She regularly appears in the media including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Newsweek, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, Foreign Affairs, CNN, BBC. Agnia earned her Doctorate & Masters degrees in International Relations from University of Oxford, and her BA in Economics-Political Science from Columbia University.

    Mark Washington

    CBRE

    Mark Washington is an Executive Vice President with CBRE Capital Markets in Seattle, focused on institutional multifamily sales across the Pacific Northwest. He has more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate and been involved in over $50 billion in capital markets transactions as both a principal and an intermediary. Prior to CBRE, Mark held positions at Eastdil Secured, JLL, and TIAA. Mark holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Morehouse College, and a CFA from the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute. He sits on the Board of Directors for Construction for Change, KairosPDX, and City of Safe Haven. Additionally, Mark is an active member of ULI, NAIOP and REEC, where he is involved in initiatives targeted at bringing diversity, equity and inclusion to the commercial real estate industry.

    Jason Flynn

    Managing Director, Eastdil Secured

    Jason Flynn is a Managing Director and 19 year veteran of Eastdil Secured.  As the leader of Eastdil Secured’s Pacific Northwest presence, Jason oversees the firm’s regional efforts focused on sales, financings, and recapitalizations of large commercial assets.  Since 2015, Eastdil Secured has completed over $41 billion in transaction volume in the Puget Sound and Portland markets.  Jason is a CFA Charterholder, a member of ULI, and a 1999 graduate of Georgetown University.

    Reid Rader

    Senior Vice President, Eastdil Secured

    Reid Rader is a Director and 8 year veteran of Eastdil Secured.  Reid is the day-to-day leader of the Eastdil Secured Seattle office, which has closed more than $35 billion of transaction volume in the region since 2015.  A Seattle native, Reid is a member of ULI and a 2007 graduate of the University of Washington.
