Young Leadership Forum: Karen True, Director of Business Development at the Alliance for Pioneer Square (Seattle, WA)

Our Young Leadership Group Leadership Forums are designed to foster professional relationships and connections between members of the YLG community and senior level leaders in the real estate and land use fields. The conversation focuses on topics including, career development, local real estate trends, and networking/educational opportunities. These are intimate conversations with maximum capacity of 15.
Karen True is the Director of Business Development for the Alliance for Pioneer Square.
Her approach is part retail recruitment, part matchmaking, part business consultation, and full-time community building. She is a longtime member of the ULI Northwest Thriving Communities Task Force, served on the Board of Directors for the KCLS (King County Library System) Foundation and recently served on the Mayor’s Commercial Affordability Advisory Committee.
Her work in community engagement and public space activation includes roles as Executive Director for Third Place Commons and later for the Great Places Forum. She also worked closely for several years on myriad projects with community developer, Ron Sher. Karen continues her work connecting people, places, and experiences with maps, guides, and consultation as owner of True Guides.
