YLG Partnership Forum Groups Kick-Off Event
What is a Partnership Forum Group?
The mission of the Partnership Forum Groups is to put young real-estate focused professionals in small group settings with industry leaders where they can learn, ask questions and build relationships. Participation and regular attendance are required. Each Partnership Forum Group will have one “Mentor,” two “Captains,” and 10-20 “Protégés.” Each group will meet about once a month from February-July 2019 with industry leaders to learn from their experiences, ask questions and discuss current trends. Schedule below. Please note, close to 100% participation is the goal.
Mentor – An industry leader who is well-known in the local real estate community
Captains – Two members help manage the group; organize speakers, track attendance, etc.
Protégés – 10-20 members who attend the Partnership Forum to learn and make connections
Speakers – At each forum, a leader in the industry is invited to share from their experience
Scott Redman, CEO, Sellen Construction
Scott Redman has been involved with Sellen for most of his life, from working part-time as a laborer in high school to joining the firm on a full time basis in 1992 as director of client development. Today, Scott provides leadership at Sellen as the company’s CEO. He has a successful track record in managing some of Sellen’s most notable work for clients such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Amazon, the Seattle Art Museum, and the University of Washington. Additionally, Scott has long been committed to serving the community, and he is involved with a variety of non-profit boards and organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. These have included the Friends of KEXP, the University of Washington Foundation Board, ArtsFund, FareStart and the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation. He believes in the power of connecting people and fostering partnerships through community.
Kristin Ryan, Partner, Barrientos RYAN
Kristin Ryan is a Partner in Barrientos RYAN, a multi-family and civic project developer focused on building inspired places that promote the growth of the city of Seattle. Kristin is an astute and experienced developer having managed development projects totaling over $400mm in housing, medical offices, schools and theaters over the course of her career. She was previously Director of the Northwest Division of Jonathan Rose Companies, directing the firm’s acquisition, development and consulting activities on the west coast, and managing their west coast portfolio. Kristin has provided development advisory services to many non-profit and governmental agencies seeking to use multi-layered financing approaches to implement their projects. She specializes in implementing complex projects that serve communities with great places to live and work.
Bill Pollard, Co-Founder and Managing Principal, Talon Private Capital
Bill Pollard is the co-founder and Managing Principal of Talon Private Capital. Talon is a Seattle- based private equity company focused on commercial real estate investments on the West Coast. Talon has current total investments exceeding $800 million. Before co-founding Talon in late 2009, Bill was a Principal and co-founder of Pacific Real Estate Partners, Inc. (PREP), a regional commercial real estate brokerage. Over his 17 years at PREP, he was instrumental in growing the brokerage to market dominance in the Pacific Northwest. He earned the prestigious Seattle Broker of the Year award four times, and was a finalist three additional times. Bill is also an active member of ULI and currently serves as the ULI Northwest District Council Chair.

February 7 Kick-Off Event
Join your fellow PFG members and mentors for a fun evening of conversation and brainstorming. During the event, you will meet your mentor and PFG group, discuss logistics, and come up with topics for subsequent PFG meetings. This is an exclusive event open only to those who have completed the survey and officially registered for the PFG program. Once you have completed the survey, you will receive an email from the ULI Northwest team with registration and payment instructions.
