Portland’s 2035 Comprehensive Plan Explained – What’s Changing and How It Impacts Your Project
Change is afoot in Portland. Inclusionary Zoning has been adopted and a sweeping overhaul of the City’s Zoning Code is being adopted as a part of the implementation of the 2035 Comprehensive Plan.
After a four-year update process, the 2035 Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2016. The long-range plan helps the City manage growth and coordinate major public investments, however it passed without some key changes to Portland’s Zoning Code and Zoning Map. These zoning changes are currently being finalized for Portland’s Central City and a decision is anticipated this Spring. How will these new regulations impact the future of Portland’s most populated core?
With a keen focus on encouraging genuine discourse and collaboration around our City’s long-range planning and goal setting, the program’s format will highlight key changes that developers, investors, and professionals can expect on their project’s going forward.
