Celebrating Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
In honor of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage (AAPI) Month, ULI Northwest would like to acknowledge AAPI communities.
In honor of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month, ULI Northwest would like to recognize the dedication and resilience of many individuals striving to live freely and authentically in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the country.
This month marks the 51st anniversary of the first Gay Pride march held on June 28, 1970, to commemorate the first anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. The six-day uprising was a response to a police raid at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City, when police unjustly and violently removed employees and patrons out of the bar. The Stonewall Riots spurred an international gay rights movement and galvanized the vital LGBTQ+ activism that we see today.
ULI Northwest acknowledges that too many LGBTQ+ individuals in the Pacific Northwest, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), continue to face discrimination and hate. Representation of the LGBTQ+ is a critical component of our DEI strategy.
As ULI Northwest strives to implement and improve diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all that we do within our organization and across the real estate industry in the Pacific Northwest, we would like you to join us as we celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
