Event Recap – Housing Trends for Millennials

  On April 29, the ULI Northwest Housing Task Force hosted a sold-out event on millennial housing trends. Keynote speaker Dr. Ali Modarres, Director of Urban Studies at the University of Washington, Tacoma, challenged traditional demographic assumptions pertaining to housing preferences and offered an explanation for the geography of the regional, economic landscape. Event Recap – Waterfront Seawall Tour, Seattle

The Waterfront Seawall Tour was a unique experience to see the Seawall project from the engineer’s and Project Manager’s eyes.  A preliminary PowerPoint of the project showed the progress, the challenges, the existing conditions, and the engineering plan and goals of the project.  The existing seawall has been compromised by microscopic organisms, and needs to be replaces to maintain the integrity of downtown Seattle.  The new seawall will be stronger, last longer, and also creates a better marine ecosystem along the shoreline that the past seawall.  The seawall is being … Read More

2014 ULI Northwest Photo Essay Contest

ULI Northwest is hosting a photo essay contest in conjunction with the 2014 Cascadia Regional Conference, which will be held on July 18 & 19 in Portland, Oregon. ULI Northwest Young Leadership Group Hosts Informative Tour of UW’s Reinvigorated West Campus

On June 4th, 2013, ULI Northwest hosted a tour of the recent University of Washington West Campus Housing project. The expansion consists of eight buildings, totaling $460 million in construction.
